Do you know how lightning arresters are used? Sangao is here to tell you that the advanced zinc oxide lightning arrester is installed above the overhead distribution transformer to divert the energy generated by overvoltage (especially lightning strikes) to the grounding terminal, protecting the system equipment from damage. Welcome everyone to inquire at any time!
Zinc oxide surge arresters are widely employed to shield power grids and electrical systems from damage caused by high voltage surges. Utilizing metal oxide semiconductor components, these arresters function as nonlinear resistors, effectively absorbing excess energy from voltage or current surges to maintain system stability and protect sensitive devices.
When an overvoltage occurs, the excess voltage and current are directed to the zinc oxide arrester. The metal oxide elements within efficiently discharge the surge energy, guiding the current through a low resistance path where it dissipates as heat. This mechanism ensures protection for electrical installations against the harmful effects of voltage spikes and transient overvoltages.
