Sangao durable High Voltage Grounding Switch is suitable for indoor 3-12kV three-phase AC 50 (60) Hz power system, and is used in conjunction with various high-voltage switch cabinets. It can also be used for grounding of high-voltage electrical equipment maintenance. Its main structure is the grounding switch, which consists of a bracket, a grounding knife assembly, a static contact, a sensor, a rotating shaft, a rotating arm, a compression spring, a conductive sleeve and a flexible connection.
When the operating mechanism closes the grounding switch, the action torque causes the main shaft to overcome the resistance torque, driving the crank arm to rotate in the closing direction, so that the operating rod on the grounding knife passes through the dead point of the compression spring, and the compression spring releases energy, so that the grounding switch is quickly closed in the closing position. The grounding knife on the grounding knife assembly is firmly and reliably in contact with the flange part (knife edge) of the static contact through the disc spring.
When torque is applied, the main shaft overcomes the main torque and spring force to drive the arm to rotate in the opening direction, and the grounding knife compression spring passes.
What is the purpose of the grounding switch?
The High Voltage Grounding Switch is used to provide grounding wires for underground or delta-connected systems.
The grounding switch allows the connection of phase-to-phase loads.
The grounding switch in the substation is grounded to form a low-impedance grounding to keep the system neutral.
The grounding switch in the switch cabinet ensures that the amplitude of transient overvoltage is limited during a heavy grounding fault.
It is used to ground electrical equipment to meet protection requirements.
What is the function of the grounding switch?
The High Voltage Grounding Switch is connected to the circuit breaker, and when the circuit breaker is cleared and pulled out, the busbar adjacent to the circuit breaker is automatically grounded through the grounding switch. This process protects technicians, maintenance personnel and users from accidental voltages.
It is used to prevent static electricity and electromagnetic induction currents. In two or more overhead transmission lines on the same tower or in adjacent parallel connection, when one or more lines are de-energized, the de-energized lines will generate induced voltage and induced current due to the electromagnetic induction and electrostatic induction between them and the adjacent energized lines. Therefore, grounding switches are suitable for such lines.
High Voltage Grounding Switch is used to close short-circuit current. The grounding switch with rated short-circuit closing current should be able to close at any applied voltage (including its rated voltage) and any current (including its rated short-circuit closing current). The rated short-circuit closing current of the grounding switch is equal to the rated peak withstand current.
High Voltage Grounding Switch in Substation plays an important role in large or heavy power transformers because it enables the power grid to have a consistent voltage reference point. Otherwise, the voltage may vary from place to place. Ensure the safety of transformers and personnel using electricity.
